Used Motor Oil and Antifreeze
Effective January 1, 2024, the Borough will no longer accept used motor oil or antifreeze. Used motor oil and antifreeze can be taken to your local auto parts dealer or to the Mercer County Improvement Authority’s Hazardous Waste Clean-up Days. Please see http://www.mcianj.org for more information or contact the Public Works Department at 609-490-5115.
Hightstown Borough Named One of the Hottest Zip Codes for 2023
We know what a fabulous place Hightstown is to live, but it’s nice to see that others recognize this too!!! Realtor.com recently ranked Hightstown #38 on its list of Hottest Zip Codes for 2023. As one of only 3 New Jersey towns making the Top 50 list, NJFamily.com recognized Hightstown for its parks, volunteer spirit and its community festivities. Water Sewer Rate Increase

Signup for Do Not Solicit list
The Borough has adopted Ordinance 2021-07 (PDF) which permits residents to sign up to be registered on a “Do Not Solicit” list. All residents who register on the “Do-Not-Solicit” list may obtain a sticker from the Borough Clerk for display on their property warning that the property is on a Do Not Solicit list; however, display of a sticker is not required for enforcement of the “Do-Not-Solicit” ban. This ordinance makes it unlawful for a peddler, solicitor or canvasser to approach or seek personal contact with the occupant of any residence either at the residence or within the perimeter of the property if the residence is registered on the “Do-Not-Solicit” list. Please note that nonprofit, religious, and/or political groups canvassing exclusively door-to-door are exempt from the prohibitions of the ordinance. The Do Not Solicit list will be a permanent addition to the website so Solicitors can refer to it and always have the most current list available to them.
