Custodian

Custodian – Borough of Hightstown (Mercer County). The Borough of Hightstown is seeking a part-time Custodian to perform routine cleaning and light maintenance duties in municipal buildings. The position is hourly, approximately 5–10 hours per week, with a schedule limited to evening hours after Borough offices have closed. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, hallways, restrooms, and public areas; emptying trash and recycling; replenishing supplies; and setting up or cleaning up after meetings or events as needed. Prior custodial or maintenance experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and able to work independently. No benefits are provided. Laborer

The Borough of Hightstown Department of Public Works is seeking a Laborer to perform a wide range of manual and semi-skilled public works duties, including road and grounds maintenance, snow and ice control, building and facility upkeep, and assistance with construction, repair, and sanitation activities. Under the direction of supervisory staff, the position involves physical labor such as lifting, digging, loading and unloading materials, operating hand and power tools, and assisting with the operation of public works vehicles and equipment. Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D., possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. A CDL (Class A or B) is preferred but not required. ADA Transition Plan Public Hearing December 15, 2025

Borough of Hightstown – ADA Transition Plan

The Borough of Hightstown will hold a Public Hearing during the Hightstown Borough Council Meeting on:

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to comment on the Borough’s ADA Transition Plan, which identifies accessibility barriers, prioritizes facility improvements, and outlines a long-term implementation schedule to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The Draft ADA Transition Plan is available for review:
