Hightstown Borough is one of thirteen municipal courts in Mercer County.  Each municipality appoints its own municipal court judge or judges.  Other court staff may include the court administrator, deputy court administrator and/or violations clerk.

  • Payments

    Violations Bureau Window

    Payments made at the Violations Bureau Window must be received by 4:00pm Monday-Friday during our regular business hours. Payments can be made in the form of cash, checks/money orders made payable to HBMC and credit cards (visa and master card only).

    Mail

    Payments in the form of check or money order made payable to HBMC may be mailed to the Hightstown Borough Municipal Court. Please do not mail cash. If you would like a receipt you must enclose a self addressed stamped envelope along with your payment.

    Internet

    If your summons does not require a court appearance, a warrant has not been issued and you are not on a time payment then you may pay your summons via the internet at www.njmcdirect.com.  To do this you must have the court’s ID (1104), your summons number (example 001234), prefix (example HB,  I,  SC)  and  your license plate number. Payments can be made Monday-Thursday 7:30am-11:45pm, Friday 7:30am-10:45pm, Saturday 7:30am-3:45pm and Sunday 1:00am-11:45pm.

    Telephone

    At the court’s discretion, we may accept payment over the telephone.  Payment can be made in the form of a credit card (visa or master card only).

    Bail Money

    If a warrant has been issued for your arrest then bail money must be posted in    order to lift the warrant, unless otherwise ordered by the judge.  Bail may be posted at the  Violations Bureau Window during payment hours (please see above) and via mail.  Bail money cannot be taken over the phone or via the internet.  If it is after payment hours  you may post bail at the Hightstown Borough Police Department (609-448-1234) or your local New Jersey Police Department.  They will forward the bail money to this court.  Bail money may be accepted in the form of cash and checks/money orders made payable to HBMC, credit cards are not  accepted for bail.
