The Public Health Nurse works under general supervision and uses knowledge from nursing, social and public health sciences to promote and protect the health of populations through the performance of core public health functions and the delivery of essential public health services. Responsibilities include communicable disease investigations/reporting, community health education, immunization audits, well child clinics, preventative adult health clinics, public health emergency planning and response, representing the Health Department on local public health coalitions, and related work as required.
